High-Level Cleaning (Roof Spaces, Attics & Plant Areas)

Roof spaces and attics collect the consequences of pest activity—droppings along rafters, contaminated insulation, nest debris at eaves and dust drawn into plant housings. Add fragile ceilings, awkward access and poor lighting, and the risks multiply. Our high-level cleaning service makes lofts and elevated plant areas safe and hygienic again, using controlled access, dust suppression, disinfection and reinstatement that respects the building fabric. Quick answer — what we deliver at height

Safe access, controlled removal of fouling and nests, thorough disinfection of rafters and perimeters, insulation removal and replacement where required, odour management at source, and tidy finishes that support proofing and future maintenance.

Why high-level cleaning needs specialists

Access and safety

Fragile ceilings, tight hatches and steep pitches require boards, lighting and methodical movement. Routes are planned in advance, access points are protected, and fall risks are actively managed.

Dust control

Loft contamination becomes airborne quickly if disturbed. We dampen first, lift in layers and bag at source to suppress dust and protect occupants and technicians.

Building function

Ventilation must continue to breathe. We guard and seal rather than block, and treat cable and pipe penetrations without compromising services.

The A&H loft and roof-space method

1) Survey, lighting and boards

Temporary lighting is installed, walk boards are laid to protect ceilings, and the work zone is mapped before any material is lifted.

2) Dampen and lift

Approved biocide mist is applied, then droppings and nest material are lifted in a controlled sequence. Waste bags are sealed within the loft before removal.

3) Disinfection of structure

Rafters, joists, sarking and perimeters receive full contact-time disinfection, with particular focus on eaves lines where activity concentrates.

4) Insulation decisions

Heavily contaminated insulation is removed and replaced to current standards where instructed. Light contamination can often be managed with targeted cleaning and odour control.

5) Odour mitigation

After source removal, targeted odour treatments are applied. On timber, a sealing coat may be used to lock in any residual scent and provide a cleanable surface.

6) Proofing and recommendations

Visible entry points at box ends, soffit joints and service penetrations are identified and sealed without blocking ventilation. Where roofs are fouled by birds, netting or solar panel mesh may be recommended.
