EXCELLENT Based on 437 reviews Posted on Spencer RichardsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark came & saw us with a mouse issue. Was very knowledgeable & carried out a survey of the premises. We have used the firm before - very reliable & flexible with appointments. Gave piece of mind & fees are very good.Posted on Jac BarsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a problem with our loft electrics being chewed and stripped. Our initial thoughts were mice or squirrels, but on talking to Mark he was pretty certain it was in fact Parakeets. On his arrival at our property he confirmed within minutes that it was parakeets and exactly where they had got into the roof. Through an external extractor fan cover which they had broken through and nested in our eaves (who knew!). Mark really knew his stuff re their behaviour and was excellent, fixing the issue quickly and efficiently. I’d not hesitate to use him again for any pest problems we have in the future.Posted on Rishi HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.Posted on Jocelyn D’SouzaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark was great, contacted me past working hours and came out the following day. Had a rat in the toilet drain, he came, laid bait and advised on remedial action. Really helpful and would recommend him to anyone!Posted on Neil RamsdenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had solar panel bird protection fitted. very neat and very happy with the service I highly recommend. Much better than the plastic ones used by a lot of solar companies!Posted on ElliottEKATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A&H Pest Control were excellent from start to finish. They came round same day I called, confirmed the noise was mice after finding droppings, and thoroughly laid poison in all the affected areas. They were professional, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. After about 10 days the noise completely stopped, which shows the treatment worked. Very happy with the service and would definitely recommend A&H Pest ControlPosted on Camilla DeweyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We used A&H for pest control. Excellent service and Mark was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend.Posted on Will FairleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Top guy, top service! We heard noises in our roof space, saw the brilliant reviews, and contacted Mark who came round the next day. Based on our conversation, and even with extremely limited access to the roof space, he thought a squirrel may have moved in; he set two traps and returned a week or so later when we felt we hadn’t heard noises for a few days. Mark was right; a squirrel had been caught and the problem is now solvedPosted on Jp DavieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Professional and quickPosted on Gerald MasonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark had been fantastic helping us with a pest problem in our cellar. He comes out quickly, explains clearly what the issue is, answers any questions we have, and is very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Thanks Mark!
Well-designed bird control is largely fit-and-forget, but a light inspection routine keeps everything tight, discreet and effective. This guide explains how to maintain bird control systems — netting, post-and-wire, spikes, solar panel mesh, vent guards and eaves sealing — and sets out practical checks for homes and commercial sites. If you prefer, A&H can add these checks to your roof or façade maintenance schedule across London & Southern England.
Weather, adjacent works and minor building movements can loosen fixings over time. A brief check catches tiny issues before birds exploit them. The goal isn’t constant maintenance; it’s quick, periodic assurance that your investment keeps performing.
Each system has different checkpoints. The following guidance keeps performance high with minimal effort.
Look for even tension, intact mesh and secure perimeter fixings. Corners and door zips are the first to show wear. Check after storms and any rooftop works. Re-tensioning is quick when caught early.
Wires should be taut; posts should be vertical and secure. If wires slacken, birds can balance between runs. A simple re-tension brings performance back to 100%.
Confirm edge-to-edge coverage remains intact. Replace any displaced sections (often moved during signage or window cleaning). Ensure adhesives are sound on sun-exposed edges.
Verify clips are tight and mesh sits flush with no corner gaps around rails, isolators or cable routes. Clear leaves and wind-blown debris that might rest against the skirt; the mesh itself needs little attention.
Confirm vent flaps move freely and grilles aren’t clogged. Look along soffit lines for daylight at joints after high winds; reseal fine cracks to maintain a continuous barrier without blocking ventilation.
A simple schedule avoids surprises. Adjust frequency for coastal/high-exposure sites.
Avoid aggressive scraping near fixings. For façades, use appropriate brushes and low-pressure rinses around nets and wires. On plant decks, coordinate with maintenance teams so zipped net access panels are opened and closed properly. For solar arrays, use panel-safe cleaning practices; never pry at the mesh skirt.
If you notice sagging netting, slack wires, lifted spike sections, panel mesh gaps, or cracks along eaves joints, a quick service visit restores full performance. Repairs are typically fast and low-cost when caught early.
Facilities teams can add bird control inspection to planned preventive maintenance with simple line items: net tension check, wire re-tension if needed, spike continuity, vent/soffit visual, solar mesh perimeter. We can provide a brief checklist and train teams to spot early signs.
Keep a basic log of install date, system type, and any service visits. Photos during inspections help track changes. Good records support warranties and make future adjustments straightforward.
Most issues are avoidable with quick visual checks and timely, simple fixes.
We can schedule annual or seasonal inspections, bundle checks with other roofline services, and carry spare clips, wire crimps and spike sections for same-visit fixes. You’ll get a brief report, photos and clear recommendations.
If you want your systems to stay discreet and effective for years, a light inspection routine is all it takes. A&H can handle it for you or provide a checklist for your team. Call 020 8295 3402 to book a visit or add inspections to your PPM plan.
