EXCELLENT Based on 437 reviews Posted on Spencer RichardsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark came & saw us with a mouse issue. Was very knowledgeable & carried out a survey of the premises. We have used the firm before - very reliable & flexible with appointments. Gave piece of mind & fees are very good.Posted on Jac BarsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a problem with our loft electrics being chewed and stripped. Our initial thoughts were mice or squirrels, but on talking to Mark he was pretty certain it was in fact Parakeets. On his arrival at our property he confirmed within minutes that it was parakeets and exactly where they had got into the roof. Through an external extractor fan cover which they had broken through and nested in our eaves (who knew!). Mark really knew his stuff re their behaviour and was excellent, fixing the issue quickly and efficiently. I’d not hesitate to use him again for any pest problems we have in the future.Posted on Rishi HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve used A&H a few times over the last couple of years and always find Mark and the team to be very responsive, professional and knowledgeable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.Posted on Jocelyn D’SouzaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark was great, contacted me past working hours and came out the following day. Had a rat in the toilet drain, he came, laid bait and advised on remedial action. Really helpful and would recommend him to anyone!Posted on Neil RamsdenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had solar panel bird protection fitted. very neat and very happy with the service I highly recommend. Much better than the plastic ones used by a lot of solar companies!Posted on ElliottEKATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A&H Pest Control were excellent from start to finish. They came round same day I called, confirmed the noise was mice after finding droppings, and thoroughly laid poison in all the affected areas. They were professional, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. After about 10 days the noise completely stopped, which shows the treatment worked. Very happy with the service and would definitely recommend A&H Pest ControlPosted on Camilla DeweyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We used A&H for pest control. Excellent service and Mark was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend.Posted on Will FairleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Top guy, top service! We heard noises in our roof space, saw the brilliant reviews, and contacted Mark who came round the next day. Based on our conversation, and even with extremely limited access to the roof space, he thought a squirrel may have moved in; he set two traps and returned a week or so later when we felt we hadn’t heard noises for a few days. Mark was right; a squirrel had been caught and the problem is now solvedPosted on Jp DavieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Professional and quickPosted on Gerald MasonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark had been fantastic helping us with a pest problem in our cellar. He comes out quickly, explains clearly what the issue is, answers any questions we have, and is very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Thanks Mark!
Ants arrive in organised lines, find hidden food sources, and return with reinforcements. Wiping a trail or spraying a visible cluster only disperses the workers; the colony keeps sending more. Effective ant control targets the behaviour and the colony, not just the surface activity. This page explains how we identify the species, break trail systems, treat nests safely and effectively, and proof properties to prevent a fresh infestation. A&H Pest Control serves London & Southern England with discreet, professional ant control and colony treatment. For fast help, call 020 8295 3402.
The lasting route is simple to state and careful to execute: confirm the species (different ants need different tactics), map the trails and food sources, apply professional baits that workers carry back to the queen, and seal the access points that keep “inviting” new scouts. When you pair a colony-level treatment with minor proofing and housekeeping, the lines disappear and stay gone.
Household sprays kill the workers you see, but they often cause a scatter effect that splits the trail and drives activity into skirting gaps, sockets and wall voids. Worse, some repellents contaminate surfaces so workers divert around the treatment and begin new trails. Professional ant control focuses on non-repellent baits or targeted residuals that the workers don’t detect, so they continue to forage, share the bait, and collapse the colony from within.
The classic summer invader. Trails run along patio edges, door thresholds, expansion joints and cable routes to kitchens and bin areas. Colonies nest under slabs and in dry soil against walls. Correctly placed gel or granular baits, combined with sealing and outdoor nest attention, provide long-lasting control.
A small tropical species found in heated buildings (flats, hospitals, hotels). They form multiple queens (polygyny) and bud—split into new colonies—when disturbed by sprays. These infestations require a strict bait-only programme with non-repellent formulations and patient rotation; spraying makes them worse.
Both are highly persistent where established. Colony structures can be expansive, so we plan building-wide baiting and careful proofing, particularly around service risers and plant rooms.
If you see two or more of these signs, call 020 8295 3402. We’ll confirm species and set a colony-level plan.
We follow trail lines to food points and back to likely access routes, check slab edges, wall junctions, utility penetrations and warm voids, and identify the species. Species dictates bait choice and whether residuals are appropriate.
We select professional, non-repellent baits (gel or granular), matched to the current food preference (sugar vs protein). Placements are made on active runs, near discreet harbourage and in protective stations where necessary (homes with children or pets, or in food environments). Workers carry bait to the brood and queen, ensuring the whole colony is affected.
For black garden ants—not Pharaoh or budding species—we may complement baiting with low-impact residuals at exterior entry points and slab seams. These are placed to intercept new scouts after the colony collapses, not to repel current traffic away from bait.
We seal finger-width gaps at thresholds, frame bottoms, expansion joints and wall penetrations with exterior-grade, flexible sealants. We fit brush strips where daylight shows under doors and tidy seal lines around pipe collars and cable routes. Outside, we sand and re-bed loose slabs that provide nesting voids against walls.
We reduce the rewards: wipe sugary residues, rinse recycling, cap sweet syrups and sauces, store pet food in sealed tubs and lift bowls after feeding. Outdoors, we move bins slightly away from doors, cut vegetation back from walls and discourage honeydew hotspots (aphids) close to entry points.
Food environments require discreet, food-safe procedures and impeccable records. We use tamper-resistant placements, avoid repellent sprays, and time visits around service hours. Documentation includes bait maps, product sheets and trend notes suitable for EHO and customer audits. Staff briefings focus on spill response, bin discipline and night-time closures.
Pharaoh ants in particular travel via warm risers and service cupboards, turning a “single kitchen issue” into a building-level problem. We coordinate baiting across affected units, work with management to secure riser access, and schedule phased treatments that match colony movement. Spraying in these scenarios is counter-productive; we stick to bait-first protocols.
Black garden ants commonly nest under patio slabs and conservatory perimeters. We bait trails at the interface and attend to exterior nests by applying labelled products to the nest entrances. Re-bedding rocking slabs and brushing kiln-dried sand into joints reduces shelter spaces and helps prevent a quick return.
We use approved, professional products with precise labels, place them out of reach, and record everything for your peace of mind. In homes with children or pets, we use enclosed stations and choose low-odour, non-repellent options. In businesses, we integrate with HACCP and provide the documentation your auditors expect.
For swift, long-lasting relief from ant lines in kitchens, cafés, offices or patios, call 020 8295 3402. We’ll identify the species, collapse the colony and prevent a repeat.
